The Black Forest
Fire Rescue Protection District

The Black Forest Fire Rescue Protection District is the legal entity that taxes district homeowners, buys and maintains equipment and apparatus, hires the Fire Chief, and oversees operations.

District organizational structure

Fire Chief Dave Ury is responsible for the District's day-to-day operations, in response to guidance by the District Board of Directors. The Chief supervises a staff of career, part-time, and volunteer employees.

The District Board of Directors is elected by district residents, and is responsible for hiring the Chief and providing direction and guidance.

Monthly public meetings

Black Forest residents are encouraged to attend all public Board meetings.

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., at Black Forest Fire Station One: 11445 Teachout Road (at Burgess Road)

Meetings are sometimes moved to another date. Call Station One (719-495-4300) during business hours to confirm the date of the next meeting.
