Welcome to our Knox Box page! As a fire department, we understand the importance of being prepared for emergencies. That’s why we highly recommend Knox Box products to allow us to access secure areas or businesses during an emergency. There are many products available to fit your needs, and ordering can be done online and shipped to your home or place of business for installation.
Here’s how you can order your Knox Box:
Step 1: Visit El Paso County Assessor to determine if you are in the Black Forest Fire Rescue Protection District. Perform a parcel search with your address and then go to taxing entities and look under Fire Department. If it says Black Forest Fire Rescue, you are in our district.
Step 2: Visit Sentry Pro Webpage and make sure you type in “Black Forest Fire Prevention District” as your jurisdiction.
Step 3: Order your Knox Box and fill out all the required information.
Step 4: Once you receive the Knox Box, contact a third-party vendor for installation. If you need recommendations for installation vendors, reach out to Sarah Andrus at 720-710-5669.
Step 5: After the Knox Box is installed, contact Black Forest Fire Rescue at 719-495-4300 to conduct a functional test. Most Knox Boxes will be initially locked, requiring Black Forest Fire Rescue to unlock them. Even if the gate and key switches are not locked, it is crucial to have Black Forest Fire Rescue perform a test to ensure proper functionality.
