NOTICE OF CANCELLATION OF REGULAR ELECTION 
BY THE DESIGNATED ELECTION OFFICIAL FOR THE 
BLACK FOREST FIRE/RESCUE PROTECTION DISTRICT 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the  Black Forest Fire/Rescue Protection District, El Paso County, Colorado, that at the close of business on the sixty-third (63rd) day before the election or thereafter there were not more candidates for Director than offices to be filled, including candidates filing affidavits of intent to be write-in candidates; therefore, the election to be held on May 5, 2020, is hereby cancelled. 

The following candidates are declared elected: 

Nathan Dowden                                   2 Year Term 

James Abendschan                              3 Year Term 

Jack D. Hinton II                                 3 Year Term

Black Forest Fire Rescue takes delivery of new engine!

The Black Forest Fire Rescue took delivery of a 2019 Sparten/ SVI type 1 engine in may of 2020. The engine is a custom cab, 4-wheel drive, type 1 engine  built by Super Vac Inc, of Ft Collins, Colorado.

The engine seats up to 6 firefighters, has a 1500 gallon per minute pump, a 750 gallon water tank, with  1,200 feet of water supply hose along with over 1,000 feet of fire attack hose. The apparatus carries Vehicle extrication equipment, hazardous materials mitigation equipment along with medical supplies and equipment. The apparatus can respond to and mitigate most any type of situation. The cost of this engine was just under $500,000. 

 

Black Forest Fire Rescue receives state grant for two new ambulances.

The Black Forest Fire Rescue Protection District applied for and was awarded a Colorado State EMTS grant for the purchase of two 4-wheel drive type 1 ambulances. The manufacturer will be Arrow Ambulance. The expected deleivery will be sometime in the 2nd quarter 2020. These new units will replace two older units from 2004 and 2007.
